Coopers Sparkling Ale

This is an excellent beer! 5.8% of preservative free goodness. Sediment floating in the bottle brings an unusual charm. Hoppy maybe. Much deeper than a larger.

Brakspear ‘Double Dropped’ Bitter
The book says ‘double drop’ means fermentation starts in one tank, then it’s drained into another tank leaving behind all the dead yeast and other crap.  Excellent depth and lengthy aftertaste surprised us considering only 3.4% (such a low alc lager would have almost no taste at all!)  Dark amber colour, very dry and bitter, worth trying but not going to be a regular.

Sharp’s Doom Bar
Amber-coloured Cornish beer. Light and hoppy, ironically Sharp at first, leaves a pleasing malty taste on the tongue, with a very smooth dry finish. A great intro into ales for the lager drinker, so recommended serving temp 12°  a bit high for our liking! When chilled could happily drink all day!

Tribute - St Austell
A dark-golden beer (good cold!).  Looks like a dark larger.  Made in Cornwall with Cornish spring water.  Label says “orange zest”, probably not far off!  Bitter finish not at all unpleasant.

Asahi Black
Love the can!  Surprisingly light taste for such a dark beer.  Really is a rich and smooth taste, dark but not overpowering, not ideal for an all-nighter tho!  Better out of the funny edged can, looks like Coca Cola when poured into a glass?!
